The monograph on 'Sayyid Ahmad Shahid' is based on yet unexplored sources of information. It presents a scientific portrayal of the mission and movement of Sayyid Ahmad Shahid, and highlights the evolution of two-nation theory. The fifth paper is an interesting refreshing portrayal of the different sects in Islam particularly among the Indian Muslims.

Dr. Mohammad Yasin had a distinguished academic career. He received education in the universities of Allahabad and Lucknow, and was associated with his alma mater during 1950-1961. The credit for establishing post-graduate department of history at Jammu in the years 1963-65 and subsequently at Srinagar goes to him. His field of specialization is Indo-Islamic history. Author of eight books, he writes both in Urdu and English.
