Richard Burton
Sir Richard Francis Burton co-translated and published the first notable English edition of the ancient Indian text The Kama Sutra in 1883. Though he could not read ancient Sanskrit himself, he collaborated with orientalist Forster Fitzgerald Arbuthnot and Indian scholars to bring the classic work on love, social customs, and human sexuality to the Victorian Western world.
