Manuscript Submission Guidelines for English Textbooks
Atlantic Publishing Group an imprint of Atlantic Publishers and Distributors welcomes submissions for English textbooks. To ensure a smooth and efficient publishing process, we ask all authors to adhere to the following guidelines.
- Manuscript Structure
- Title Page: Include the book title, subtitle (if applicable), and author(s).
- Table of Contents: List chapters and sections with corresponding page numbers.
- Chapters/Units:
- Number and title each chapter.
- Start each chapter with clear learning objectives.
- Include subheadings, exercises, and summaries where relevant.
- End-of-Chapter Elements: Exercises, review questions, glossaries, and additional readings.
- References/Bibliography: Ensure proper citations for all referenced works.
- Formatting Requirements
- Font: Times New Roman or Arial, size 12.
- Spacing: Double-spaced throughout.
- Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the top or bottom corner.
- File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) or Google Docs format.
- Content Guidelines
- Audience-Appropriate Language: Use clear and simple language suitable for your target audience (beginner, intermediate, or advanced learners).
- Grammar and Style: Ensure accuracy in grammar and sentence structure.
- Examples and Exercises:
- Provide diverse examples that are contextually relevant.
- Include exercises such as multiple choice, true/false, or short-answer questions.
- Attach an answer key for exercises where applicable.
- Glossaries: Define key terms either at the end of each chapter or at the back of the textbook.
- Use of Visuals
- Images: Use high-resolution images with captions, and make sure they are referenced in the text.
- Tables and Charts: Properly label all tables and charts.
- Multimedia: If applicable, provide clear instructions for any multimedia elements (audio or video).
- Citation and Permissions
- Citation Style: Follow a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) throughout the manuscript.
- Copyright Permissions: Ensure all permissions for copyrighted materials (images, excerpts) are secured and included with your submission.
- Submission Process
- File Submission: Submit your manuscript in digital format via email to [submission email address].
- File Naming: Use the following format for naming your manuscript: AuthorName_BookTitle_Manuscript.docx.
- Permissions: Include documentation of permissions for any third-party materials used in your manuscript.
- Length and Deadlines
- Please adhere to the word count or page limit provided by our editorial team.
- Ensure all drafts and revisions are submitted on time according to the agreed schedule.
