George Orwell: The Man Who Saw Tomorrow

This is an attempt to focus on the prophetic vision of George Orwell in the Spanish Civil War perspective. In the course of discussion the author treats almost the whole length of Orwell’s writings, both fictional and non-fictional. The main thrust of this study is, however, on the changing response of Orwell commencing with his involvement in the Spanish Civil War cause. The authors contention is that the Spanish Civil War was a watershed in the life and writings of George Orwell which gave him his creative maturity and, of course, his political vision.
